Why I Started The Scent Verdict: No More Blind Buys.

 

My name is Frank and wifes name is Gigi. The reason why I actually decided to start this blog was because of my wife. See the truth is my wife loves perfumes, body sprays, lotions that smell good specifically right, also candles and so on. I have always been a person growing up of simple taste. Yet, when I got married I saw that my wife loved buying perfumes and other smell goods often and sometimes way too often. But it made her happy and she always liked smelling the new thing. Especially if we were out an about and it caught her attention. She would as servers, nail stylist, anybody practically what they were wearing in the sense of perfumes and so on. Which in turn would lead her to buy the scent. Eventually, I got to the point that I became her test dummy, and also would go with her to perfume stores and more to smell test. 

She noticed that I had a good sense of smell. Which I would dare to say I've always had. I have always loved spring and fall the most for seasons. There's something about the smells in the air of blooming flowers, fresh cut grass, burning firewood, and so much more. My dad growing up had a green thumb. He would plant all kinds of plants. From roses, lilies, tulips, sunflowers, and other types of flowers; to veggies and fruits. So fresh flowers I grew up around and in a city where the air clearly isn't the purest. I could detect certain scents just from memory.It got to the point to where my wife would buy perfumes and other smell goods and not tell me the notes. But ask me what do I smell in it. I wasn't always right, but I was always able to get a few notes out of it. 

Which now leads me to this blog. My wife purchases perfumes and other smell goods all the time. Sometimes they may have smelled good in store, on a specific person with their chemistry, but didn't smell as good on her or even after she bought it. Which led her to be unhappy with a lot of her purchases and eventually given a lot of them away to people near and dear to her. Now you can call me cheap, but spending over $150 dollars on a perfume to not like it and essentially give it away is wild. But hey that's what she likes to do rather than throw it away which does make sense. But all that led me to here. 

To wanting to start a review blog. To truly rate these scents that everyday people buy. Whether it's with the little money they have because they wanted it bad, to someone that has more than enough but wouldn't want to invest in something they will not use themselves. In this blog we will be doing a review system that will have a rating, thoughts, notes, and pricing and whether or not it's worth the price. With every post it might be different. Some may have some video content others will be written out like this. But make sure to follow the blog because we'll be reviewing some scents shortly. Also be active and share your thoughts in the comments. I also would like to do a scent of the month based off of the scents reviewed on this blog. So look out for that as well.
